I am trying to work out who is who in the KM landscape in Australia.

I thought I had sussed out most of it until I recently discovered a couple of groups that have been around for a while that I hadn't heard of.

So here is an initial list I have and looking for people to add to it. Some are volunteer entities/peer groups and others are businesses.

A final list and perhaps relationships will be posted back to the actKM email discussion list.

Thanks

Cory

After talking with a couple of people I have come up with a draft objective.

"To provide the Australian KM community with a map of groups and organisations that are involved with Knowledge Management directly or indirectly in Australia."

Probably needs a bit of polish but it at least communicates where my head is at.

There are probably a number of attributes that it would be handy to collect including:
  • Geography
  • Organisation type
  • Focus/Knowledge areas
  • Website
  • Membership Criteria
  • Cost
  • Medium (f2f, online - email, forum, teleconf)

Cory,

I think it would be valuable to get such a directory/map together. When we do we should do some cross linking from KM blogs/websites so the new site gets some google juice.

Re the list of entities, we could get into some interesting discussions. For example, should SOLA be a KM entity or a related entity? What would they say?

'd also suggest contact details would be part of the info required.

By the way, the Melbourne group is called the Melbourne Knowledge Management Leadership Forum.

Regards,
Andrew.
