Snipping of posts has been discussed before but we would now like to get everyones feedback on which option you would prefer.

The snipping argument goes like this, for those who receive the list in Digest form they get the same infomation over and over again so they have to scroll and scroll to actually read the important stuff.

If it gets snipped so only the relavent post is retained then the digests are significantly shorted and easier to read.

Anyone can vote you do not have to register on this forum to participate, you may also leave a comment (for that you will have to join, this is so we know who you are).

Sorry you will need to register to Vote

I don't use the digest, and like many others I like to see the previous thread in my previous messages, it helps carry the context. It can be hard to snip when you're replying in a general sense, or to a number of points. However, I support the snipping convention because it helps the people who receive daily digests, it seems to me just good manners.Patrick

Snipping serves more than just shortening the response (and making life easier for those who read the digests). Snipping indicates that the responder has thought about the reply, has though about the context of the reply and has made an effort to provide the relevant context without the extraneous "noise".

In other words, "snipping" is another way of showing respect for hte thoughts that are being espoused in a discussion.

For those who like to see the entire thread, the use of "conversation" or "thread" sort order in the e-mail client may be handy :-) This way, both camps can be happy!

Cheers,

I prefer conversations where the replies are carefully interwoven amongst snipped quotes from the post being responded to, but I don't think unsnipped posts should be moderated by the use of administrator powers.
